AirVM Cloud Hosted Servers Saves You Time with New Templates

AirVM has recently added a new series of templates to their Cloud Computing Servers allowing clients to have a VM system deployed with the newest version of their operating system software. In combination with Windows Server 2003 and 2008, these new templates include CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu.

The virtual hosting templates used by AirVM are a great time saver for clients. Designed to be completely compatible with cloud computing technology, CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu systems are all based on Linux technology and each system services different computing needs and communities.

The CentOS template is a minor release, from 5.5 to 5.6, while Debian 5.x to Debian 6.x and Ubuntu 10.14 to 11.14 are both major releases updates.

For easy reference, a brief comparison of AirVM’s system platforms is:

- CentOS is an Enterprise-Class Linux Distribution aiming to be 100% binary compatible that conforms fully with upstream vendors redistribution policy.

- Debian, created using the Linux kernel, is supported by thousands of programmers worldwide. It runs on almost all personal computers, even older models. Each new release is designed to incorporate a larger number of computer architectures. Debian provides documentation to identify currently supported models in their documentation for the stable release.

- Ubuntu, initially derived from Debian, is very fast, secure and with thousands of apps available. Completely compatible with Windows, this system will interface with virtually any currently available hardware with no installation CDs needed. This platform is designed to update itself automatically with single-click access.

- Windows Server 2003 and 2008 are server operating systems that are produced by Microsoft. They are extremely scalable and flexible for the services that they are working with. Cloud computing technology is completely compatible with this server technology.

Join the thousands of Fortune 500 Companies that use the Cloud for their technology services. AirVM is pleased to offer all new customers a free $10 Trial Account to give our amazing cloud hosting services a try. Spin up an AirVM account for just 6.5¢/hour. Simply click here and complete the form to be given an account with a $10 credit. You can create a custom AirVM with no limits to CPU, RAM and Storage. As soon as we deploy your VM to the cloud, we will credit your Trial Account for just pennies per hour – and the first 1000 pennies are on us!

AirVM Cloud Hosted Servers Boast Extensive New Updates

AirVM is a cloud hosting company that has shown that their true intentions are to rise to exceed the needs of their clients. This pay-per-hour cloud hosted service has implemented new updates to improve service for their current and future clients. Updates to the AirVM cloud hosted servers include:

- Migration of physical servers to blades: Blades use less power for the same amount of processing. They can be key elements for reducing ever-growing power costs and for implementing environmentally conscious initiatives. Blades offer easier setup and management, and simplify network infrastructure so your team’s productivity is increased.

- The storage network is upgrading to be 10GbE (10 Gigabit Ethernet): High-speed server connectivity and efficiency that provide shared networking capabilities that are ten times faster than Regular GbE NICs.

- Addition of NetFlow Statistic cards to Core routers and switches: This will allow AirVM to better manage network flows and client bandwidth usage in the form of tables and graphs with detailed results.

- An increase in storage for both production and backup

As the AirVM cloud hosted servers are already adjustable to your needs, updating their systems has maintained the high standards and improvements to the quality of their service. The benefits of AirVM include the amount of security, scalability, recoverability, power and just as importantly the ease of use.

The facility is admirably and extremely secured with dry pipe fire suppression systems and other appropriate fire safety not to mention the backup generators and redundant power feeds. Clients who are more hands on have the options to add their own firewall or increase security in the form of an additional VM. The migration of servers to blades and upgraded storage network in conjunction with the addition of NetFlow Statistic Cards to the Core routers and switches improve the way AirVM meet your needs.

Cloud computing is creating a vast difference in how businesses handle their hosting capabilities and it could make a difference for you. Contact Us, visit the support page or contact Live Chat if you need any other information about how these new upgrades will work for you.

OTTAWA — When Amy Nahwegahbow’s laptop was stolen, she decided not to wait for the police to solve the case. Instead, she found a listing resembling her computer on Kijiji, arranged a meeting, recruited a helpful neighbour, and caught the thieves red-handed.

Shutdown an AirVM Cloud Server and it is instantly converted to storage-only billing.

We’ve taken our already simple Server parking process and made it even easier. Even when you shutdown your server directly, the control panel will reflect the change in less than 5 minutes.

At AirVM all changes persist through a shutdown and stay that way until a client chooses to destroy it.

This is a great solution for Development, DR and Testing environments.

A powerful new feature has been rolled out in the AirVM Cloud platform that changes the game once again. We give our clients the ability to “Park” their Cloud Hosted Servers at any time. Parking a server converts it to storage only billing and clients no longer pay for Memory or CPU reservations while it is in that state.

There are no charges associated with parking or unparking an AirVM Cloud Server. Both, the park and unpark operations are initiated by a single click and only take 3-4 minutes to complete.

This is a perfect solution to keep VMs readily available for production, keeping costs down on development / test servers and excellent for almost any DR project.

The above image illustrates how a parked AirVM Cloud Server would look in the control panel and also where to find the “Park this VM” button.
